Floor preparation
Preparation of the Sub-floor is vital prior to fitting of the Vinyl. The floor should be flat, smooth, and clear of any detritus to ensure that the maximum life and performance is extracted from the product. The Sub-floor should always be latexed or plyboarded prior to installation if there are any imperfections. Even the smallest dent will show through the vinyl and cause it to wear and trap dirt and bacteria.
Installation
It's vital that the vinyl is installed professionally, to ensure it lies perfectly flat and fits accurately. Any bumps or gaps can house dirt and bacteria.
Initial Treatment
Some vinyls, such as Marmoleum require sealing immediately after installation and prior to use. This is vital for ongoing Care and Maintenance, and also to validate any manufacturer's warranty.
Everyday Care & Maintenance
Vinyls should be brushed and washed with warm soapy water as required. You should never use any abrasive cleaner (Such as JIF) on vinyls as this will wear down the top layer of the flooring and eventually cause discolouration and a failure of the product.
