Seagrass is a plant that grows in marine environments. The Seagrass family of plants are recognised as forming vital habitats for a number of marine species.
Because Seagrass does not give a lot of grip, it is not advisable to fit the product on stairs.
Seagrass is a 100% Natural product, harvested from renewable ocean forests. It is reasonably tough and hard-wearing, and gives a unique appearance to a floor when installed.
As with other natural products, Seagrass must be delivered to the installation room at least 24 hours prior to fitting. This allows it to adjust itself to the ambient atmospheric conditions prior to installation.
In common with Coir and Sisal, Seagrass can be relatively unstable, and therefore must be installed on an underlay that allows it to be fully adhered to the sub-floor, and thereby preventing any movement once fitted.
Any liquid spillages with be difficult to remove, as Seagrass is a naturally absorbent material. Simple vacuuming as required should suffice to keep it clean.
